Cardiff Child Health and Disability Teams

This is a dedicated team that offers advice and support to families of children with a disability.They work closely with other agencies providing support for families and children throughout the county.

There are 3 team managers including one based at University Hospital of Wales with the
hospital-based paediatric social workers. There is a psychologist, an OT, and a small team of support workers working with the social workers and social work assistants at the  present team base.

There is very close liaison with the team of Special Needs Health Visitors based in St  Davids Hospital. There is also close liaison with services for Adults to facilitate as smooth a transition as possible when children reach 18.

Contact with the teams can be made from 8.30am to 5pm Mon to Thurs and 8.30am to
4.30pm on Fridays.  The answerphone is usually on between 12.30 and 1.30 pm.
If no-one is available messages can be left on the answering machine and a worker from the team will get back to you.
