Introduction

Welcome to the "Where You Stand" guide.

Parents often stress how difficult it is to find out about the services and opportunities available to them and their disabled sons and daughters. This guide contains a wealth of information that we are sure you will find of benefit.

In the coming years families face many challenges and it is more important than ever that you have access to the support and assistance that you are entitled to. We hope that you find this guide informative and useful and we are always interested in hearing from you if you have ideas on how we can improve it.

This guide covers the counties of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan specifically as well as offering information on national services and bodies. Each county has its own individual way of planning and providing services and we have endeavoured to embrace all such information. These planning systems have been the subject of a great deal of change over recent years and we have attempted to provide information on the current systems that are in place, as well as new systems that are in the process of being introduced.

Like all guides it cannot be comprehensive but it does offer a means to be signposted to appropriate opportunities. We will try to maintain this online version as up to the minute as possible to include many links to other websites that you will find useful.

Although we have taken great care in the compilation and preparation to ensure the accuracy of the information contained, Cardiff & the Vale Parents Federation cannot accept responsibility for any errors or omissions caused in its compilation.
