Challenging Behaviour

on Wednesday, 26 June 2013. Posted in Children - Specific Health Conditions

Severely challenging behaviour refers to culturally abnormal behaviour(s) of such intensity, frequency or duration that the physical safety of the person or others is placed in serious jeopardy, or behaviour which is likely to seriously limit or deny access to and use of ordinary community facilities.

Supporting a child or adult that displays such behaviour can be extremely difficult and stressful but some excellent support is available. For children we suggest you look at the paving the way website which gives useful guidance and information as well as seek support from the local groups below.
